A mom from Minnesota is earning fame on TikTok for her adorable videos of her carrying her “chubby” twin babies, who are already 21 lbs. at just seven months old. Alexis LaRue, a 22-year-old mother, gave birth to identical twin daughters named Camila and Elena in March. Even though they were born weighing only 6 lbs. 7 oz., the little ones have grown three times the size in just a few months.
Alexis’ small size at 5’3″ and 116.4 lbs. makes it quite amusing to watch her carry both babies simultaneously.
Alexis had been regularly posting videos of her twins on TikTok when she stumbled upon a popular clip of a mother of twins managing to hold both babies with one arm and doing other chores effortlessly. This inspired Alexis to try it out herself, but it was apparent that it wasn’t as easy for her.
Alexis was surprised by the size of her babies despite her fiancé, Leo Mejia, being taller than her at 5’11”.
It’s not uncommon for twins to be born weighing around 5 lbs. or less, which is why Alexis had already bought premature-sized clothing, expecting that her babies would be on the smaller side.
Nonetheless, as they weighed almost 13 pounds together, the girls soon grew too big for those clothes and have been growing at a fast pace ever since. At present, they are in the 98th percentile for height and need clothes intended for infants aged between 12 to 18 months.
Alexis’s twins may be small in size, but their health is not a cause for concern. The pediatrician has affirmed that the babies are growing at a rapid pace and there is no issue to worry about. Alexis is content with the amount of milk they receive and is pleased that her babies are happy and healthy. Ultimately, their well-being is what truly matters.
While many TikTok users have expressed their support, there have been a few who have made unkind remarks about the size of Alexis’ babies. Nevertheless, she doesn’t allow such comments to get to her and believes that some babies are simply born big. Instead, her priority is the health and well-being of her little ones.
